Kevin Shin, Physiotherapist
B.Sc Biomechanics, MSc, MScPT
Kevin embarked on his healthcare journey with a focus on biomechanics and human movement during his kinesiology studies in University of Calgary. His passion for academic inquiry led him to pursue a Master's degree, where he wrote a thesis on osteoarthritis. Driven by a desire to assist others in regaining mobility, Kevin became a physiotherapist, graduating with a Master's degree from the University of Alberta in 2018.
Starting his career at Foothills Hospital in Calgary, Kevin gained experience working with diverse patient populations, including cardiovascular, orthopedic, and intensive care patients. His interest in pain treatment and wound care was sparked during his time in burns and plastics rehabilitation.
Continuing his journey at Rockyview General Hospital in Calgary, a center specialized in geriatric care, where he delved further into complex wound care. Relocating to British Columbia, he joined Abbotsford Home Health, seeing patients in their homes, before transitioning to Surrey Memorial outpatient clinic, where he focuses on helping clients recover from joint surgeries, cancer, and those experiencing functional challenges such as repeated falls and poor balance.
Passionate about educating and empowering clients to achieve independence and optimal function, Kevin endeavors to help clients overcome obstacles and reclaim their quality of life. Outside of work, he enjoys outdoor activities and sports such as baseball, badminton, and pickleball.
